Gay Characters on Television!!!

Since I don't read much around here, I can pretty much post what I want without offending. But if you should feel inclined to suggest one of your own, feel free. Just make me want to go check him out! lol

I avoided sit-coms on purpose, because most of those characters exaggerated stereotypes and caricatures I can live without. Besides, I tend to go for dynamic, yet flawed men with a range of talents and emotions. Some may call them bad boys, but I just think they are misunderstood. They need love too, I usually put in the time, energy, patience and understanding to get there, and they develop an appreciation for me for doing so!

10} David~ The New Normal...Rare is it that a nice guy is going to get and keep my attention. Sure, he may look great, but something about their inner workings will bore me before too long. David, played by Justin Bartha, managed to convey a range of emotions and a sense of humor and warmth, without becoming uninteresting. I've been crushing on Mr. Bartha for quite some time, with his cute face, great smile and piercing blue eyes. Him playing David just made me want him more.

9} Rusty~ TheCloser/Major Crime...A little young, but definitely more my type. An extremely intelligent gay street hustler who is eventually adopted, and finds love and success! Played brillantly by Graham Patrick Martin, Rusty became one of the most fascinating characters, and one of the best things about the show. His intelligence and compassion made me wish I could befriend him in real life!

8} Jesus~ The Walking Dead...The greatest thing in the world for me to see on television is a gay bad ass! We are so typically played as soft, or even worse, effeminate. Played by the beautiful Tom Payne, can make a whole lot of sense, show warmth, heart and compassion, and still kick some ass when he needs to. If that gay power couple ever makes it to the show, I love you Aaron, but the dream team of Jesus and Daryl would be awesome!

7) One of my favorite numbers, and lucky indeed, we have a tie! Blaine~Glee & Will~ Nashville...Who doesn't love a guy who can marinade and serenade them in bed, and both of these guys have singing chops! Blaine, played by the gorgeous Darren Criss, was a beautiful sweetheart, and his love for his man and his friends was quite uplifting, if not inspiring. Will's story of closeted gay musician, abandoned by his parents, eventually accepting and finding, not only himself, but love and becoming a successful out country music star was awesomely portrayed by the handsome Chris Carmack. Tim, Brad and now Will, are three country guys I will listen to, follow and enjoy, not just buy their cds for masturbatory purposes! lol

6} Connor~ How To Get Away With Murder...Sexy bad boy who finds love, softens up but never loses his edge. Sounds like my future husband! Played by the dreamy Jack Falahee, Connor is the personification of hot, and he had no problem using it to his advantage. Usually giving a strong character love makes them weak, if not boring. But watching Connor waver between his lighter and darker side is a thing of beauty to watch, and having his man do the same dance with him only enhances the situation!

5} Danny~ Wolf...In a show with so many sexy men (Tyler Hoechlin, Tyler Posey, Daniel Sharman, Ryan Kelly, Cody Christian, Colton Haynes, the Carver twins, etc.), so many of whom have , shall we say, interesting lives outside the show (Tyler, Ryan, Cody, Colton), it would be hard to stick out! But much like his nipples, Danny managed to do so, and he did it being the ultimate nice guy who no superhuman strength. Just a great mind, a hot body and a good heart. Now that to me is sexy as hell!

4} Kevin~ Nashville...Another ultimate nice guy, who saw Will through some of the hardest parts of his journey, all without changing who he was or what he wanted out of life. That kind of strength is what makes a real man, gay or straight! Wonderfully acted by the mouth-watering Kyle Dean Massey, Kevin's level-headedness and compassion gave him a power that didn't come of as hard. Probably one of the strongest gay nice guys brought to the small screen!

3} Justin~ The Haves & The Have Nots...And I'm guessing most of you have no idea what you are missing. A Tyler Perry drama on the Oprah Winfrey Network, if you love dramatic soap operas, you ought to be checking this out! And among its fascinating characters is Justin, a closeted police officer with a wife and , who ends up falling for the of a homophobic bitch, and coming across as unhinged in the process. You really ought to check this show out, and while you are at it, take a gander at Justin, played by the drool-inducing Nicholas J. Muscarella. I'm telling you , you don't know what you are missing here!

2) Zero~ Hit The Floor...Gone but never to be forgotten is Zero, a former foster care who manages to become a basketball star, falls for the estranged of the owner of the basketball team, finds love and comes out! Another bad boy whose soft side is only seen by his boyfriend, Zero is a conniving, scheming, bisexual sex machine, and doesn't mind using any and all of that to get what he wants. Amazing portrayed by the living wet dream that is Adam Senn, Zero is the ultimate misunderstood bad boy, softened but not weakened by love. The man of my heart and dreams!

1} Omar~ The Wire...A bad ass openly gay gangster who tackles not one, but two mobs, even using the cops in his quest to survive the mean streets of Baltimore. His nearly superhuman feats and Robin Hood approach has the city on edge. Who else can bring the fear of God into people just by whistling "Pop Goes The Weasel", yet display a fierce love for the people he cares about? Through Emmy-worthy performances by the incredible Michael K. Williams, Omar was the shit of legends! He may not be the hottest guy on the list, but who does love a bad boy! And on the gay spectrum, Omar was the baddest ass there was!
