Why Trump should lose

Trump has ruined the GOP. His corruption and moronic ideas have killed the party for women, young people, LGBTQ people, Hispanics, Blacks, moderates, military supporters, real Christians, moral people, rule of law people, fiscal conservatives, small government supporters, pro-choice people, climate change worriers, environmentalists, etc.

In other words anyone with any decency or sense.

The tariffs have hurt business confidence, investment and jobs in manufacturing. Most clearly in the battleground Midwest. Trump has less job growth than under the last four years of Obama. The big tax cut helped the rich and corporations and hurt the rest.

Trump has more than 15,000 lies since his coming into office. The rule of law is bigger than Trump. Trump is a would be king or dictator. He loves Putin, Xi Jinping, and the North Korean dictator as he would love to have their powers. In the U.S.A. we don't do kings.

So why might Trump win? The stupidity of some, the foolishness of others. The electoral college powering the rural areas with extra impact of their votes. The inability of Democrats to come up with charismatic leaders and unite to defeat Trump. Four more years of Trump could destroy the U.S. for decades. Care or else...

Back from a week in Cancun for vacation. Pretty place. Fun, good fun and interesting ruins in Tulum and Chichen Itza. We rented a car which was an adventure. Some crazy drivers but nice for getting around. Car rental was only $34 a day...

Not big on sun tanning, but the beaches were pretty. No crime which was a good change from all the bad publicity about Mexico drug cartels. Direct flight on Delta only took 4.5 hours. The food and lodging were reasonably priced. Worth while considering.

Peter Jackson the director of Hobbit movies made a recent movie about trench warfare in WWI. The movie does not focus on the American contribution to victory or the naval battles. Still it is griping and important to remind us of the horrors of war. On Netflix...

History is mean and cruel. The glorification of Confederate symbols is racist and whistles of White Supremacy and KKK violence against Blacks, Jews and minorities.

The South was not noble. The South seceded to support slavery for Black people and to make money from unpaid labor. Treason to the U.S. is not noble.

The continued terror in the name of White Supremacy is not noble, it is horrible.

All the lying about lynching is sugar coating the truth, which is pathetic and ignoble.

Those who pander to racists will lose the votes of actual minorities who know what White Supremacy means.

The U.S. needs all workers and decent people of every racial and ethnic group.

E pluribus unum. One from many. We are stronger when our diversity is accepted and enjoyed.

The big battle of the future is over voter suppression and redistricting to gerrymander.

almost 800 law professors agree

Almost 800 law profs signed a letter supporting impeachment of Trump. An excerpt:

Moreover, the Founders were keenly concerned with the possibility of corruption in the president’s relationships with foreign governments. That is why they prohibited the president from accepting anything of value from foreign governments without Congress’s consent. The same concern drove their thinking on impeachment. James Madison noted that Congress must be able to remove the president between elections lest there be no remedy if a president betrayed the public trust in dealings with foreign powers.

In light of these considerations, overwhelming evidence made public to date forces us to conclude that President Trump engaged in impeachable conduct. To mention only a few of those facts: William B. Taylor, who leads the U.S. embassy in Ukraine, testified that President Trump directed the withholding of hundreds of millions of dollars in military aid for Ukraine in its struggle against Russia — aid that Congress determined to be in the U.S. national security interest — until Ukraine announced investigations that would aid the President’s re-election campaign. Ambassador Gordon Sondland testified that the President made a White House visit for the Ukrainian president conditional on public announcement of those investigations. In a phone with the Ukrainian president, President Trump asked for a “favor” in the form of a foreign government investigation of a U.S. citizen who is his political rival. President Trump and his Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney made public statements confirming this use of governmental power to solicit investigations that would aid the President’s personal political interests. The President made clear that his private attorney, Rudy Giuliani, was central to efforts to spur Ukrainian investigations, and Mr. Giuliani confirmed that his efforts were in of President Trump’s private interests.

Ultimately, whether to impeach the President and remove him from office depends on judgments that the Constitution leaves to Congress. But if the House of Representatives impeached the President for the conduct described here and the Senate voted to remove him, they would be acting well within their constitutional powers. Whether President Trump’s conduct is classified as bribery, as a crime or misdemeanor, or as both, it is clearly impeachable under our Constitution.

I have a younger relative is looking for love but not finding it. Sad.

She had dates and thought she found a keeper. Then he ghosted her.

She made out with him for hours! Then he ignored her.

Life is tough. You get your hopes up and reality crashes the party.

There are too many choices these days. The grass always looks greener somewhere else.

The fear of missing out can lead to missing out.

The drop in pregnancies shows many are too busy playing to have sex....

Sad when young and attractive cannot get laid...

I have read a lot of profiles. On dating sites like M*tch the women generally want it all! The guy should be drama free, tall, handsome, smell good, be smart, funny, witty, stable, financially secure (meaning rich), passionate, into long walks on the beach, plan fun activities, supportive, not abuse substances, etc.

The guys want a woman is not too crazy, pretty, and loves frequent vigorous sex....

Do these different goals match well? I do not think so...

More clear every day is that the Dems in the House will impeach Trump. He richly deserves the black mark for so many corrupt and improper acts. Stealing funds from the military to build his wall for example. Trying to get the Russians, Chinese and Ukraine to interfere in 2020 election for another. Attacking citizens and trying to intimidate witnesses, interfering in court cases. Demonizing his opponents, including the media, critics, and immigrants.

The Senate filled with GOP lackeys clearly does not care and would let Trump get away with actual murder so long as Trump just suggested someone should be dead. Like a mobster Trump uses language to hide his goal while making the result he wants so clear.

The goal for sanity to return to the POTUS spot is to elect a Dem in Nov. 2020. I expect Biden will do that but any Democrat is better than Trump. A potted plant is better than Trump. Let hope the Dem is not too banged up from the campaign to win.

Actually the impeachment inquiry just shows what we already guessed. Trump does not give a shit about democracy in the Ukraine any more than he cares about democracy in the U.S. He just cares about Trump, and power.

The depressing part is those enable Trump and support Trump. Some are cynical but most support the idea of a king or dictator rules by whim.

Trump is still sucking up to Putin, presumably to get a Trump Tower Moscow and make millions from oligarchs there. laundering for Moscow seems to be the main business of Trump . Hiding the tax returns is needed to obscure the corruption. Sad days for the republic.

I have mixed feelings about people who provide sexual services for . California makes illegal. CA Penal Code section 647 (b). most of Europe it is not illegal. some parts of Nevada there are legal brothels, but they are fairly expensive.

Oddly enough many sexual activities for are legal. Strippers, cam models, porn performers, lingerie models, etc.

Massages are legal, happy endings are illegal.

Should people be allowed for sexual services? We let people work for pro football which can or injure them. We let people work in coal mines, which can harm them from black lung. We let people smoke tobacco which can harm them in many ways. We let people guns, which can lead fatal suicide, accidental death and crimes such as robbery and assault.

We let people sky dive, scuba dive, race cars, ride horses and drink as much alcohol as they like. All are dangerous. More dangerous than sex in a bed.

If a young woman or man wants provide sex for should we stop or punish them? I say young because older people can have a hard time giving sex away.... Just kidding....

We let musicians their talents. We let dancers their performances. We let opinion writers their viewpoints.

Why criminalize sex workers who are adults with adult their services? If you forget the Puritan impulse stop others from enjoying sex it is hard to justify criminal penalties for sex work. A rich guy marrying a trophy young wife seems close to sex work, but is legal. Seems a little like making owning a car legal but making renting a car illegal.

We use to criminalize using or marijuana. Now it is legal 37 states.

Will we decriminalize sex work?

Maybe I am delusional. But I do not worry that Trump will get elected again in 2020.

I think enough people are fed up with the inept Trump that he will be toast. The hope is the young and the educated suburban women will dump Trump. In 2018 and 2019 they did.

I do worry that the Dems seem to be bent on destroying themselves.

Bernie is too old and too fragile with a heart attack. Biden is out of touch, compromised by his in Ukraine acting like Trump's offspring, and also too old.

Warren is too willing to spend other people's money for health care for the rest. Pete is too young and unproven. Bloomberg is unknown outside of New York. Harris is fading and other Dems seem to lack charisma.

I will gladly vote for anyone other than Trump, but we still need to have someone who could be a plausible POTUS.

Trump deserves impeachment and seems to have a lock on that disgrace. Hard to believe the Senate will remove Trump but stranger things have happened. The quid pro quo is not an essential part of the crime, but seems to be proved in any event.

Still many GOP enablers seem to be happy to say Trump may be venal and corrupt but that is not enough to remove him...

If the economy shifts into a recession in 2020 Trump is toast. Lets hope the business cycle happens to coincide with the prayers of Dems.

Still America will survive another four years even with an inept idiot as POTUS.

As Mad magazine used to say: "What me worry?"

I know people who think should appreciate their advantages. That idea is not sensible to me. grow up in their family and think it is normal, whether rich or poor. They do not appreciate the advantages until they are older and see other ways of life that are better or worse.

Most Americans take their good luck in being born in America as a given. Only when you see the persecution in dictatorships like Russia, China or many countries in Asia and Africa do you realize how precious living in America is to so many yearning for freedom.

Do not expect to appreciate freedom, liberty and civil rights. But adults should.

My house is a mess as the painters moved stuff with my help to paint the interior of the house. Some rooms are empty and others filled with the stuff from the empty rooms.

Then we decided to resurface the floors in three rooms since the rooms were empty.

The mess will be solved in a few days, but the stress lingers on.
