Do you include that "warning" against using anything from your profile that ends in the words "legal ramifications?"

Humor me , will you? Copy and paste any or all of it onto a search line, and look at the first couple of hits you get...

Yeah, you've been scammed. It's a toothless hoax that's been circulating at least since 2007. Actually make that "toothless, harmless, and worthless."

It's like when someone told you when you were a that "they can't print it unless it's true." It's a nice belief, but so is the Tooth Fairy. But no matter how hard you believe, and no matter how many believe in her, that doesn't make the Tooth Fairy real.

But it's one of those urban legends that just keep going.

I find it useful in one kind of negative way. If I see it on a profile, it identifies the profile<b> owner </font></b>to me as someone who's probably kind of gullible and doesn't question things too hard.

And then I stumbled on this next bit on someone else's profile. I have changed only the name of the person accused, substituting XXX for it:

I wonder, did they surgically split this guy's brain in two? First he complains about what XXX has done to him and his privacy. THEN he copies the legally void "ramifications" paragraph. But nowhere does he indicate that he tried to press to get his rights enforced. (I did ask him about that, and he said he complained to the AF F overlords and they deleted the offending profile. In other words, he did something reasonable that worked around the "ramifications" nonsense.... so why bother running it, except to mark yourself as an unthinking person? )
