heres one worth reading.

In the news today : Canadians are now able to get treatment for opioid addiction by a simple implant :
Vancouver news- Canadians that are addicted to opioids may be eligible for an implant that provides an ongoing very low dose of medication that lasts for 6 months with the potential for treatment up to a year when a new implant is placed in the opposite arm.The procedure involves trained physicians inserting a stick sized rod under the skin of the upper arm, each containing the medication buprenorphine.
Health Canada approved the implant in April 2018 , two years after it was granted approval in the United States. It is marketed under the brand name Probuphineand it is the first such implant for the treatment of addiction to opioid addiction.
So far the one size treat all has been limited to tablets that have to be taken daily and is a welcome relief for patients who forget to take their meds even for one day. With many addicts battling housing issues, poverty and unemployment it comes with welcome .The implant will also see an addict lessen the need for taking a supervised drug that lessens also the risk of misuse of the drug now administered. The implant will also be a relief to inmates who are soon to be released from prisons as they will be under scrutiny the most for substance abuse , thus putting them at a higher risk.
The health ministry will be making a recommendation to the Canadian Agency for drugs and Technology , to help with costs thru the Health Canada by reimbursing and making the drug available for full coverage..The implant is distributed to Canada from the USA , Vancouver has the highest rate of addiction with over 3000 deaths from the abuse and overdose , the cost of the drug implant will be 1495.00 . so some agreement has to be worked out for reimbursement or coverage ..One patient in Nova Scotia has already seen the benefit from the implant, the quality of life is for the recipient is way better since the implant.
Now folks that's a great thing for someone to have as an alternative to full recovery from an addiction..too bad the smokers in Quebec wouldn't have had this so that way they wouldn't have had to sue tobacco companies for their mistakes..oh wait there is things on the market for smokers to help over come their addiction of cigarettes, oh me how dumb I am ...lol

I never could understand how drug addictions occur so predominantly in low-income lives. I mean drugs are fricken expensive!

But that irony aside, I want to see the opposite. Wifey could really use a low-dose opioid implant to help with her chronic pain. Addictive? Well, yeah. But chronic doesn't just go away. She'd gladly sign a waiver or whatever was needed.

Even an herb as sweet as basil is nothing without its bite.

I know about pain but has she tried diet and eating the things that does not create pain? I control my phantom pain with less carbs , meaning bread products and foods made with flour, flour is one of the most common causes of pain in anyone who develops or has any type of pain..If you haven't read an article called " wheat belly " maybe its time ..what type of pain and whats the cause? and I disagree to a point chronic pain does not go completely away but can be alleviated with proper diet..
