Immersion

She paints with her words
and he hangs off her every brush stroke
waiting to be stroked into being

his appreciation of her art
made him want to carry her off
to a bed of<b> feathers
</font></b>to let the colour and texture of her
sing praise to him

he wanted her to wash over him
to be reborn in the water of her
drowned in unholy adoration of her

he wanted to immerse in her
on her, of her, into her

he wanted a portrait of her
hung in his life forever
