On searching for a partner online
On searching for a partner online Do you find yourself wondering if a majority of people on here are not interested in meeting? I've been ruminating on this and I'm interested in hearing other points of view. In the past I have used this site to meet some like-minded and fun partners. Safety and comfort was always a primary concern among all people. Since moving to a new area I decided to give this another go to make a friend in a strange land. This has proven more difficult than expected. I have begun to wonder if anyone is actually interested in meeting. Are people more interested with self-gratification by posting themselves on here in search of Likes and attention? We all want to be noticed, myself included, but is this where the interaction ends? Perhaps social media platforms have shaped our goals into a hunt just for a Like, thumbs up, or a wink. It's satisfying to see numbers go up. But so is sharing a physically pleasurable experience with a partner. Are we progressing (or regressing) to an era of increasingly limited physical interaction? Thoughts? Now, with that said, I'm completely open to accepting that it is my profile, pics, stats etc. that don't make me particularly attractive to other members. Opinions on this? My stats haven't changed since my last experience on this site when I met a few great people. I'm interested in hearing what others have to say on the topic of meeting people on here or any other social media platform with an emphasis on dating. |
