For Many of Us, This Is Just Another Thursday. . Looking through the Blogs this morning, as well as receiving many emails, it's impossible to not know today is the Thanksgiving Day holiday. But for many of us, it's just another Thursday. Yes, many of us provide services to others through our work that does not allow for taking the day off on a holiday. This is in no way a lament on my part, as I truly love my career and it's niche in my life and what it provides for others. However, I did see a few television commercials last evening that did bring to mind what I heard from someone last year, and it prompted me to create this captioned picture:  I can only guess that some people may have misconceptions about it, but whatever it is you do for work, if you did/will work today, bear in mind that you are not alone and your services are understood to be welcomed and appreciated. . |

Have 2 in the Emergency and Medical field also...But it's one thing the rest of us should be Thankful for...

Firefighter/ paramedic here and on duty for 24 today. And I agree, we have careers that we have to work today. I hate seeing retail stores open though.

There are many that save life on holidays, they work, so many can be alive on the holidays.

I know what You mean as there is People that hold jobs where We work Holidays..I would had to work today if not for being on vacation.. I still will wish You a Joyous Day..I admire Your dedication to Your job..  You can't expect to be Old & Wise..If You were never Young & Crazy!!!

Used to have a job where I worked on holidays. Sometimes, it would be peaceful. The only time it really hurts is when you can't see those that came into town that you have not seen in a long time.

yes you right, very often mostly of the people forgets that some are working during holidays to make sure that all the rest can have a good or safe day. besitos

Thoughtfulgivings day when those who can't be there. We express ourselves and our thanks through thoughtful renderings,phone calls or that quick visit just to say hey it sure smells good! We certainly won't miss them all and this year we have to answer that call. Happy Thoughtfulgiving to you as well Patty! Using more than all the road!

I thank you for your services. I am dealing with a good friend of mine that has breast cancer. She is hanging in there, and I always thank the staff at the hospital when I leave after I visit her...again..Thank You!!

I thank you and all the people in the medical field that take care of us all each and every day through long shifts and holidays sometimes without thanks or appreciation for all that they do!! I was hospitalized earlier this year and the nurses, doctors, medical assistants and hospital staff and all other personnel took such amazing care of me!! I thank them all for their kindness, for their hard work, for their care and for helping me get well!!!!!
