You might be a redneck if....

I have a 10 year old car. I bought it brand new, it had 9 miles on it when I rolled off the lot. It wasn't my first new car, so I don't really have any emotional attachment to it....

I just love not having a car payment.

This is the first time in my entire adult life that I haven't had a car payment. It's awesome to have that extra cash to do stuff with!

The down side?

It's a 10 year old car. Stuff is starting to go haywire.

On my way home from work tonight my trunk popped open. Why? Don't have a clue. Didn't hit the button on the key ring, didn't hit the button on the dash, it just popped open.

What's worse?

The drivers side door doesn't open from the inside anymore. I literally have to roll my window down and open my door from the outside all the time.

What does this mean?

Tonight after work, in the dark and rain, I had to pull off to the side of the road because my trunk popped open and open my door from the outside just so I could shut the damn trunk.

I'm sure I was looking all kinds of cool......

I guess it's time to start thinking about getting a new car.

The door most likely is something simple and inexpensive to repair. Linkage disconnected or a broken part. The trunk might just have not been closed tight. I'm sure one car payment would pay to fix the door and leave you with plenty left over.

Save your money and pay cash. Some times ask if there is a demo which is one that a salesman or dealer executive has been driving that has a few miles but may be loaded with options that they would rather sell than take to the auction.

That's definitely a good idea!

It depend on the make and model of the car, and over all the value, but only you know whether or not you want to spend money on a new car, if you can fix those minor problems I would, a long as it isn't the trans or motor, I say it is worth getting those little things fix,

I've been telling myself for a while now to get the door fixed! It's a pain in the ass.

Sounds like the older car gremlins. Have a wondrous night.

Sounds like your car might have gremlins like mine.

Read my diary Journal of a Taxi Driver for taxi stories and pictures of flowers and trees.

I thought that same thing when I read your post about your car gremlins. LOL
