Let me start by thanking the 4 people that were kind enough to respond politely and demonstrate genuine concern in what I had to say.
That said, 4 people, seriously. The internet has millions of users everyday, 4 people. That appears what is wrong with the world today. We simply don't get involved with others at all. I saw a pregnant woman hydroplane and hit a telephone pole in the city. Nobody stopped to help her. The next day I saw pickup trucks slam on breaks in the highway to help a woman with a flat in a small town.
Is it where we live that dictates our humanity? Are we being afraid? Have we let the criminal element dictate how we act with each other?
I understand about being cautious. I deal with appearances each day. It is ashamed that we can't be ourselves for fear of what others perceive. I remember taking a into a store, and if they acted up, correcting them right there. Now you have to take them to the car for fear that someone might see and report you.
