Have I Done The Same? A Poem

In the coming days
I will need to make
A choice.
Whether to keep
Seeing him
Or cut the cord.

I enjoy his company.
He and I get along well.
But if he cannot
Bring himself
To a higher level
I will have to let go.

People can build
Upon dates together
And time spent.
I know he has grown
On me very much
In sense.
But have I him?

Have I wormed my way
Into his heart?
I have been taking things
Very slow and easy.
Not moving by leaps
And bounds.

I think of him
In almost every waking hour
And he probably features
In my dreams
Just as prominently.

It stands to reason
into my heart
He has found a place.
For he has done
So many nice things.
But and here lies
The question
Have I done the same?
