Awakened To Love A Poem

Awakened to Love Written in 2015

I need you today.
And yesterday
And tomorrow.

I miss you when
We do not communicate
No words exchanged.
It leaves a void in my soul.

How can it be that you have
Found your way there
Ensconced would be the word for it,
When we have not<b> physically </font></b>met,
Yet?

It is like your hand
Reached for me
Extended from so far away
And while it has not touched my skin
It has touched something deep within.

You have a name
And many I have come to say
As endearments.
My dear, my darling, honey,
Sweetie,
Someday I want to whisper them
In your ear
As you sleep next to me
As well as the words
Thank you.

Softly whispered
Hoping they do not wake you
That they reach into your slumber
Like some hypnotic suggestion.

And most of all I want to
Whisper the words
I love you as I shower you with kisses
And that is how I want you to wake
Everyday.
