Road scenery

During my travels I saw a lot of the Midwest from Wisconsin to Texas but having been all over the country I did notice certain places had a more pure quality to the scenery. I am quite certain most of the watchers/commenters of my blog will remember the Disney nature films we saw in grade school, yes? I saw some of that in a few places

One such place was the northwest mountains east of Seattle. I also made a run out on to the peninsula to Poulsbo. A lot of Oregon has some great scenery, especially the drive from Eugene up to Bend, taking the 126 which hooks up with US 20 and goes past Suttle Lake. Another place was The Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. I drove through there on several occasions and every time I would think "What a cool place to have a house on the water during the summertime".

I grew up in San Diego and am quite familiar with SoCal and now the Vegas area. It was interesting to see some areas around the country that looked very similar to "home". I saw a lot of really cool small towns as well as some smaller cities and what really caught my attention was the "style".

The architecture and the way things were maintained from the original days of the town were very cool to see as compared to the newer areas where I grew up. Something I always noticed was areas like St. Louis with the older red brick buildings, the stories they could tell

There were a few places I wish I could have had some time to sightsee...maybe some day

Everyone is on a different plane of intelligence. Some people's plane has not taken off yet!!

I love the old style architecture, that's why I enjoyed visiting Europe and of cause England where I grew up.

Just love those castles.

Oh absolutely! When my mom was doing our ancestry she discovered several castles from our family way back, pretty cool stuff

I told her I was going to go over there and claim my rights as family and live in one

I Have booked my flight and reserved a rental car this week to Tulsa Oklahoma.Where from Tulsa I will head to a shrine of the great Frank Lloyd Wright in Bartlesville for a two night stay in the only high rise he ever built.
Not sure what to expect living in a city surrounded by mountains. With many right in the city of Phoenix itself.
It's the first in a series of trips planned to his more acclaimed commissions.
Falling water,S E Johnson building, all with varying landscapes and scenery.
Intermingled with paying my ultimate respect to those that contributed to the turning point in our nations destiny.Gettysburg P A .and Arlington.

Using more than all the road!

One ugly podunk town that I loved was Duluth. I was only there a few times in seventy four and it was dirty and industrial looking and I liked it a lot. Another place I never would have visited outside a truck that I loved was South Hill, Virginia. Like Duluth, there was just something about the place that made me feel like I'd want to live there.
