Deserving

I received an interesting message the other day. A female member of Couples Dating took the time to assure me that because I am an atheist, I deserve what I wwill get.

This strikes me as a particularly odd sentiment to express on a sexual hookup site, being something I'd expect to hear from a street corner preacher or a televangelist. I mean, I don't like to argue about religion on Couples Dating, but if you take your religion seriously enough to tell others off for not agreeing with you, shouldn't you also take it seriously enough to not spend time on a website where the main goal is sinning?

I mean, Jesus himself said that to look upon someone with lust in your heart is as great a sin as adultery. If you spend time on Couples Dating without lust in your heart, you're doing it wrong.

 I'm not surprised that religious people are here. I mean, we all have needs. I would just expect that the people here would be the more tolerant sort, and nottoo cconcerned with the sins of the rest of us.

Does this woman message every atheist she comes across with a similar message? Does she berate the Jewish and Muslim members of Couples Dating, too? Does she imagine that a comment like that is going to convince me to reexamine my beliefs?

Or maybe she just gets off on it. Fifty Shades of Prayer.
