A Reassuring Sense of Bliss
So much we tell another
over a coffee mid morning
or over a wine unwinding
charting where we are
listing the woes great and small
when we run
and when we fall
and sometimes we lean in
to each other are as book-ends
and allow our lips to meet
in kisses commonsense greet
for all the world of which we talk
for the miles we walk
the surmising and proposing
in this action we honour
feelings deep running to surface
brush of heat and moisture
breathy melding in a heartbeat
recall and kindle thoughts loving
how easily a kiss does this
brings a reassuring sense of bliss
when the talk improves nothing
when all conjecture air
in a kiss shared anew find
the ties between which truly bind.
