Does sex with a mermaid count as bestiality?

The word taboo is sort of hard to define because it means different things to different people and changes with cultural borders and over time. In some places still every day acts such as oral/anal or female masturbation are considered highly inappropriate and in others even things like swinging or homosexuality are easily accepted. Here in the US I feel less and less is considered truly off limits and sexually taboo.

For me, nearly nothing is. Some of the stranger/sicker fetishes like bestiality, pedophilia, and necrophilia are just plain wrong in my eyes but beyond those with severe moral implications I think. eh, to each his own.

How about you, what do you consider to be personally or socially taboo?

I'm with you on some of the big ones... and I wouldn't even say taboo, I'd just sat No Nos...

The US as loosened up a bit, and I think it's technology played a role in that - allowing more to be seen, ingested, and finally accepted.

Of course we have the extremists who are against everything... but I think as long as those involved are of age, a sound state of mind, and a consenting then it's all good. It's all about fun and pleasure, and who am I to say that whatever act isn't pleasurable to that person?

 Well any type of Disney on Ice is just plain wrong..and as for sexual activities..I beleive anything between consenting adults is alright. I have a big problem with the thought of people being taken advantage of...children etc.

It is interesting to think about why some things are taboo and in what cultures they are...oweing to the diversity of the human experience.
