I Would Rather Die of Passion Than of Boredom

I Would Rather Die of Passion Than of Boredom

When you mention the word passion, people automatically think you are going to talk about passion in a sexual context It generally implies a deeper or more encompassing emotion than that implied by the term lust.

Passion is a feeling of intense enthusiasm towards or compelling desire for someone or something.

Passion is an emotion to be embraced. It is what motivates us and keeps us moving forward.

Passion for art, literature, sport, for doing good by someone or something, for love, for your faith. Passion lights a fire deep within us. It gives us the energy to reach our goals.

Building your passion for someone takes you to the next level and is beyond a sexual attraction.

I think real passion for another human being is about knowing that person and all that they are, all that they need and all that they are capable of becoming. Look inside, see who they really are. What makes them breathe? What matters to them?

**In 1883 Mile Zola released “Au Bonheur des Dames” that contained an instance of this saying in French. In October 1884, Vincent van Gogh wrote a letter to his brother Theo that included the quotation as part of a larger excerpt from Zola’s novel. Thus, both well-known figures employed the saying, but Zola was the originator.**

How often have you known someone who retires and doesn't last six months? Their work was their life. They had no hobbies or outside interests, regardless if they had a family. I refuse to be that kind of person.

So my question to you is: What are you passionate about?

Sexy. I have seen this many times, men who retired after I did and did not last, they sit around and just died from boredom.. I have several hobbies.. all are very technical, and to me keeps my mind sharp. the other day one of the kids was asking how to do a math problem, I said read it to me, and it , to me was chiildsplay.. My pi is 3.14159 and I get fused out, whyare you so critical . and then I say how do you match things to with a fraction of a micon,? I often look at the light spectum on both ends which are not visiable to the unaided eye.. Today I listen to the noise emmiting from our sun.. It is a beauliful white noise..
I have been retire for only 10 years, should have laid down the tools eariier. but in 2008 the econome did not look very good and I was about to lose faith, so I just kept working..
I am active I have many things to do yet, my bucket list is NOT finished!!!

first and foremost is photography, second is traveling, then Art, History, Architecture, & music.

And by art, it could be art in the Louvre, or in the latest comic book.

If I can retire, then travel and take photographs I will be happy.

My job revolves around architecture, I like my place in it, but I can let that go and admire buildings from outside of work.

I didn't know it originated with Zola, I have a shirt that reads 'I would rather be scared to death than bored to death' thanks for sharing.

It is sad that so many retire and just seem to wither away.
I could tell from previous comments that you are a man that likes to keep active and have a bucket list that you are working your way through. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your perspective.

I knew your #1 would be photography based on your own blog and previous comments . It is amazing when things we are passionate about can be combined! Sounds like you have found a great balance for doing that!
