Happy Thanksgiving !.!.!

I would like to take a few moments and wish each and every one of you a very Happy Thanksgiving.

For me, Thanksgiving is the kick-off to the entire Holiday Season !.!.! Growing up on a ranch after the flurry of activity to prepare for the coming Winter - Thanksgiving is a slight pause to catch your breath and secure your final preparations for the long nights ahead.

With rural life, You quickly learn how the weather so greatly affects crops, livestock, and based on that humanity as a whole. Being close to the land and the animals you realize how we may be one or two bad situations from disease, famine, financial difficulty - this is compounded when the vibrant leaves are torn from their limbs, the air is crisp and clean; and, the bitter chill you feel as each new day breaks while feeding the livestock announces that Winter is coming - OMG ... I just used a 'Game of Thrones' reference and didn't realize it until I was proofreading ... ... LOL !.!.!

However, Thanksgiving is a lifeline, a reminder to keep the faith, to hold onto hope --
(I wish I could find Hope again - She was a fabulous lover ... She did this little thing with her ... ... Ohhh sorry I was distracted for a moment ... LOL !.!.!)

OK - I'll try this again ... ...

However, Thanksgiving is a lifeline, a reminder to keep the faith, to hold onto hope --
Of Family and the love that is shared - even when We disagree,
Of One's inner strength to persevere the depths of Winter - because Spring will eventually come and We can endure more than We believe,
Of the Blessings We have - even though We don't always see them,
Of the hours of self-reflection during the short days and long nights - when We see who We really are,
Of Charity and Benevolence - to offer a hand-up and not a hand-out to those less fortunate than Us,
Of the Bounty of Our Labors - as We have raised, grown, or preserved most of what is on Our table.
Of the Traditions We honor and respect - to pay courtesy to those who have gone before Us,

Lastly, and Most Importantly - gratitude to the higher-power We each acknowledge in Our own unique way for guidance and faith.

I wish each and every person who reads this a Happy and Reflective Thanksgiving (Yes - I know those above 49 Deg. N. Lat. Celebrate Thanksgiving in October !.!)

Ohh ... a reminder ... Christmas is 30 days away ... ... LOL !.!
