early days of video!

I have just read a story about embarrassing moments which reminded me of a funny (slightly embarrassing for a young lady) occurred. I used to repair TV, Video and Hi-Fi equipment back in the day when they where repaired and not replaced - yes long ago. I was called to a video which had no playback picture - a quite common fault. It was dirty heads as usual and very quickly remedied by cleaning the head with neat alcohol and a thin leather. I was doing this while the young lady was making me a cup of tea. When she returned there I was having reassembled the video sat back watching a film she had recorded. Oh was quick what was it she asked? To which I replied oh just dirty heads you been watching mucky films haven't you? She turned bright red and said how did you know? I had to say well until you said I didn't with a big smile on my face so as to ease the tension to which she turned even brighter red. I then explained the 'dirt' was in fact referring to the oxide coating of tapes comes from the surface and clogs the heads from time to time. We were able to have a good laugh about it and I recommended getting a tape head cleaner so as not to have to us out again (the company would have to charge for a second visit for the same fault). I enjoyed the job as from time to time there were funny moments caused by customer's on-tech knowledge on new tech items - we used to joke about not going on holiday for more than two weeks as we would a refresher course - as technologically was moving an alarming rate!

Well again to do with video but not sexy, I got 13 and a half pence out of a video the child had put through the air vents in the top effectively using the video as a money box the lady came in and said how is it now and I said I think you will find some change! Another engineer told me about the day before when he got a small yapping dog which wouldn't stop and the owner did nothing about it. He asked her for a cup of tea and when she left the room the make it he squirted freezer spray on its backside the dog took off running through the kitchen whining and the owner brought him his tea saying what happen to ...... Ron looked and said don't know duck. still have one or two more but haven't time now.
