What's the best way to deal with fake profiles? |

I've been lucky enough to not have to deal with this problem yet (as far as I know). Depending on my mood at the time and the nature of the treachery I'd probably either block the person or "out" them in some way. En-Joy!

I think it's quite difficult to figure out who is using a real or a fake picture. A clear example of this are the profiles without facial pictures. How can we really trust someone who doesn't have a facial picture? When you walk into a bar or disco or any other public place what's the first thing you see in a person. Their face, right? Believe me. I've seen lots of profiles without a single facial picture. We don't know who is behind that hidden profile. Even if that person has a lot of friends in their network or has the most visited blog on the site we'll never really know who that person is until we see lots of facial pictures in their profile. That's what I think. How about you?

I'd thank them for stopping by my blog. Not much drama they could start. 'course I'd probably never find out if they were fake anyway. Guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it Visit my blog if you want to at thax013 and thank you very much!

Don't you think that just because someone doesn't post pictures of their face they are fake or have something to hide?? Example I have NO face pictures on my profile currently but I used to ... I had a friend call me up and say she'd seen me on a sex website where my picture had been used by someone else on their profile. After that I did some search and found my picture on over 40 other sites, ranging from Amateur sex sites to other cam sites. As you can appreciate I don't want my pictures being used on any portal but having my face blazoned for all to see without my permission is too much. Therefore I hope that gives you a different perspective on why some people especially women may not want their face pics up. Lashings of Love Amy xxx

I mostly don't care as long as they behave themselves...people have a wide variety of reasons for deceptive behaviors...but if they become a distraction to the group, I'll "out" them. . I don't mind if people have no face pictures, but it really annoys me if they try to use celebrity photos...I've seen guys use pictures of actor Mark Harmon and daredevil Evel Knievel as main profile photos, and there are a LOT of women who use photos of porn stars' bodies to decorate their profiles. I'll "out" those as soon as I see them, and report them to the site as well (not that the site cares all that much ). .

I agree with verybadgirl20 that a woman's excluding her face is no proof of a fake. Here's the catch: The women's profiles I find interesting almost always ask for (or demand) a face shot, even when the woman profiler has not offered a face shot of her own. Face shots can be exchanged later, but with 30 or more men for every woman on the site, taht's a request men may not be able to make.

That's what I think. How about you? But one way of telling a fake picture is to do a reverse image search for it on TinEye. Sometimes people claim that other sites stole their picture off of Couples Dating to try to explain why it gets a TinEye hit. But you can catch them in their lie sometimes if the picture that comes up on TinEye shows more of the image than what's visible on Couples Dating. For example, if someone's Couples Dating picture only shows a torso, but TinEye takes you to another use of the same picture that also shows the person's hands and arms, then you can pretty much deduce that the person on Couples Dating is the one who stole the picture!

Yeah, I've been lucky too.

I have not encountered any problems with fake profiles being run by real individuals, I have problems with profiles being run by Fuckbook, just to ensure communication within the site. Some people are actually trying to hook up, while the system floods your mail box with bogus "hits". I know this is a business, and no money is made unless you are a silver or gold member. But why get peoples hopes up, just to get them to "upgrade"????

I had a very pleasant conversation with a lady from London. We got on well and planned to meet. Guess what! She called it off as she had to see her sick mother in Nigeria that needed cancer treatment and didn't have the money to fly back or afford the treatment ... Nigeria mmm, sick mother mmm, No money … I mean, it's not even original and not even Dirty Rotten Scoundrel standard Anyway I ignore her There are an awful lot of these on the site. Proably 80%! She's still on the site!
