FLOODS

There's so much flooding going on all around our place that my Internet Service keeps going off.. So this will be a short post while my computer is still online.

We haven't had any measurable rain at our place in two years, and these storms hitting all around us have only barely wet the ground where we live.

This is not unusual for this time of year on the Mojave. Southern California is a very large area, and the moisture that comes up from Latin America seldom is enough to rain over the entire region.

All of California, and in fact the entire Western 1/3 of the United States desperately needs rain, not in torrential downpours but in normal frequent storms...

I'm still hoping we'll get some of that moisture at our place...

Fires are extremely frightening things. I went through one huge L.A. fire when I was living in the Malibu hills many years ago. The fire burned from Agora, all the way to Malibu and the Pacific Ocean.

The place I was living in belonged to my brother-in--law and burned to the ground. I lived in a converted 1956 VW Van after that , until I located this place and bought it.

I hope your home is safe from fire Sweetness... Internet outages are a pain aren't they? david

 All the storms around us, actually brought the temperature down to below normal for this time of the year. Of course even at THAT, the desert is still hot for most people..
