my wrote this to me and i thought i would share

I used to stand at the edge of the driveway and watch you drive out of sight,
Watch you drive that eighteen wheeler into the night.
I would wait by the phone praying you were alright,
Praying when I heard a jackbrake I would see you rolling into sight.

I would live weeks on end with your goodbye kiss,
Hoping the next holiday you would not miss.
Wishing you were here to warm me in this winter bliss.

I would brag in school that my daddy was a trucker,
would laugh and say you were such a sucker.
Only deadbeats did jobs like be a trucker,
I would then reply that you being a trucker I couldn't be luckier.

I always watch you ride away as I wave,
These memories I cheerish and save.

When you leave I get all blue,
Because when your gone I miss you.
I pray that i'll be with you,
And keep an eye on your truck too.
