Is it Time for a New Book?
Is it Time for a New Book? Can I ask you guys a question? (You guys who are my regular watchers and readers that is..... ) When I first started blogging, I got quite a lot of questions from people wanting to know what book it was I was reading. I don't think I have had that question once in the last six or seven years now. Is it time for a new book? And by that I mean, does it matter that my picture is now ten years out of date? I have thought about maybe taking a new picture in the same pose, but with a different book and patched and faded jeans. (I'm not sure if the people reading now have known me long enough to get the joke though...... The little bit of hair you could see would be greyer. But of course I am not here looking for the next meet or hook up - what really keeps me coming back is the chance of making contact with someone who really gets what I am thinking about on a given subject, or who can understand or appreciate some sexual fantasy I might have in a way I probably don't feel I would be understood, or can allow to show, in real life. So it doesn't matter to me that someone might think I am trying to look younger than I am, and as you can't see my face and I am still in pretty much the same shape otherwise, would it make any difference? The other thing is, I see what have become, to me, Iconic user pictures of people which are comforting in a consistent sort of way. Like Lindo in his kilt or Bigglala's tongue. Violette's diamond-chevron socks, Redrockrascal's rose tinted specs, Jules' eyes hidden by the brim of her hat, and Smarty's golden eagle T shirt. (Or whatever that emblem is - what is that Smarty? ) I know I don't have a massive following who keep a look out for my picture to the left of the column when they are reading other blogs or whatever, but I find myself reluctant to change it just in case it might catch someone's eye out there from way back when........ Does it matter? How do you feel about your picture? |

I agree about it being a good idea to have a consistent, recognizable profile picture. My Wonder Woman picture is actually only a couple of years old. Prior to that I had a black and white photo with a similar hands on hips pose, and that had been my profile pic for a number of years. I did start to feel a little self conscious about the other pic not being accurate to my current build. Bottom line - do what you wanna do! What is the current book, by the way? It's interesting think about what book I might pick if I were going to do something similar. This has always been a favorite pic of mine (although it's even MORE out of date than the one I demoted): [image]

I remember asking you many moons ago what the book was. Put up whatever picture you feel comfortable with. Any picture is better than none. Will have to ask sis to dig out your email addy, have asked her before, but she's slack. lol

I think people recognize the profile picture moreso then the profile name. I am more visual on here I gather because if someone changes their profile picture it may take me a second to figure who they are. I had changed my profile picture at one time but got requested to switch it back for the same reason.

I was probably always going to stick with the same picture, but thanks for confirming my thought process.

Now am squinting to try and make the title of the book you're reading hotdreamer! Great stuff that you enjoy reading, and it is def a passion of mine as well - to read a proper book and get lost in the story! As regards Profile Pics, agree with you about pics being associated to certain people - it is them - thus it can be confusing when somebody constantly changes their pic! I do change mine every now and again, and try for more recent, but somehow think you might have approved more with my first pics I put up - I was a good girl! As for you and taking a new pic of yourself and holding another book, (and those "patched and faded jeans", Mmm .... sounds intriguing!), anyway, did see another pic of you and your hand on your heart? Now, I'll just also say "Happy Hump Day"! ..... And always 'hold onto all those sexy thoughts'! (Remember if you feel like taking part in some sexy fun then click here!) I won't change my picture now...even though it's a decade old. I always keep a current picture on my profile, but the top hat is too iconic. I never really have those kinds of pictures, so I'm going to use the heck out of the one I do have.

You always seem to choose one which is recognizable as your style. By the way, have I somehow given you the wrong impression? In what universe did I prefer you to be a "good girl"??? (I like good girls of course, but only the bad ones, lol. )

Thanks Jules. I absolutely love your picture and I would be sad if you changed it! (Except the next one would probably be just as good lol. ) I hadn't really planned to change mine- it was just an idle thought and suffering as I am from lack of blog inspiration I thought I would just put it up in case it started an interesting conversation. But having read what people say I am going to keep it the same. I'm not trying to hid my age and if anyone takes exception to an old picture then they might not be the kind of person I want to be friends with anyway!

Ah, so that's definitely a reason for not changing it then. Naughtypursuit said someone asked her to go back to her original for the same reason. So who were you before, assuming you can say without attracting some unwanted attention? I haven't changed the name of the blog for a very long time though. You weren't...............willhe69 were you?

My legs will likely stay until the day I die, bad iPhone 4 camera and all. (It seemed like such a good camera back then, too! Miles better than my earlier phones.) This is at least in part because my legs will never look that young and unscarred again, but also because I’m terribly lazy and don’t visit enough to bother changing things. And a part of me likes the familiar. Do not seek an external refuge, but be a light unto yourself. "Be the change you want to see." HalfNekkid Wednesday Peekaboo

( I nearly said "spread them around" but that would have sounded wrong...... )
